BRIDGING THE DIGITAL DIVIDE. We promote sustainable development bridging the digital divide with inclusive connectivity and low energy sensing technologies
By leveraging on Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs), particularly by the deployment of the Internet of Things (IoT), Camnexus endeavors to enhance decision-making capabilities, which can offer a wide-range of improvements and efficiencies to urban living (smart cities) as well as industries and key productive sectors (Industrial IoT) worldwide. However, the increasing number of sensors and connected devices driven by the deployment of IoT, requires both connectivity and data processing capabilities not always present, particularly in developing regions.
|
Under these conditions, connecting the digital world, allowing smart cities and IIoT, whose potential has been widely recognised, poses risks if the enabling infrastructures are not in place. Such risks include increasing the inequality gap between developing and developed countries. In view of these technological challenges, Camnexus has developed Camnexus-IoT© to enhance digital communications and decision-making process in key industrial and productive sectors with operations on developing countries, where they have important economic impact. This solution is based on the integration of cutting-edge low power technologies, including sensors, connectivity and data processing capabilities. Camnexus-IoT© aims to overcome challenges of integration, connectivity and battery autonomy present in scenarios of increasing devices connected, either in operation sites and communities with specialised hardware for heavy-duty operations. Camnexus aims to create local capacity in technology and innovation, improve connectivity networks in areas that adjoin with the industrial sites, normally industrial poles that act as important drivers for city growth in developing countries. This solution has been developed as response to challenges in improving productivity and data democratisation and accessibility for industries, governments and communities.
